Did you know some stores have a “BYOB” rule? And by “B”, they mean “bag”, not “bottle”. Although it might seem less exciting, it’s still pretty awesome! It helps us save trees and save cash. Sadly, more and more stores are stopping their reusable bag reward programs. But don’t worry! Here’s a handy list of stores that will still give you perks for bringing your own bags.
1. Target
Target has been a top player in the “bring your bag and save” movement since 2009, and they’re still going strong! You get a 5 cent discount for every reusable bag you bring.
2. Whole Foods
Whole Foods will give you a 10 cent discount every time you bag your groceries in a reusable bag you brought along.
3. Trader Joe’s
At some Trader Joe’s shops, you can get a 5 cent discount for each reusable bag you bring. At others, they put you in a weekly draw to win a $25 gift card every time you shop with reusable bags. Different stores have different offers, so check with your local shop.
4. Kroger
(Includes Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Tom Thumb, King Soopers, QRC, Fry’s and more)
Depending on the location, Kroger will give you 5 fuel points for every reusable bag you bring (up to 10 bags per shopping trip). Some places will give you a 4 cent discount on your total bill. And others will give you a free reusable bag at certain times of the year. Check your local store for what they offer.
5. Lowe’s Foods
Lowe’s will give you a 5 cent credit for every reusable bag you bring (up to 20 bags).
6. Brookshire’s
Bring your reusable grocery bags to Brookshire’s and get a 5 cent discount for each bag. There’s no limit to how many bags you can bring!
7. Foodland
At Foodland, you’ll get a 5 cent discount for every reusable grocery bag you use. And there’s no limit to how many you can bring!
8. Reasor’s Foods
If you bring your reusable grocery bags to Reasor’s, you’ll get a 6 cent discount for each one. And, again, there’s no limit to how many you can bring!
