M.A.C. Will Give You Free Lipstick for Your Empty Beauty Containers!

Recycling isn’t just for soda cans and pizza boxes, you know! Your makeup items like lipstick tubes, eye shadow pots, and foundation bottles can be recycled too. Instead of tossing away your used M.A.C. product containers, keep them safe. Once you have six empty ones, you can swap them for a free M.A.C. lipstick, Lipglass, or eye shadow. With the Back-to-M.A.C. program, your empties get recycled, and you get a cool gift for helping the planet. Pretty cool, right?

If you already know about this, just consider this a friendly reminder. M.A.C. takes what they call “primary packaging”, the stuff that holds the product. This includes containers for your beloved M.A.C. items like Paint Pots, Fix+, Lipglass, and those cute Pigment jars. M.A.C. isn’t the only beauty brand that rewards recycling, though. We’ve mentioned before about Garnier’s Rinse, Recycle, Repeat initiative, Origins’ promise to the cause, and Kiehl’s Recycle and Be Rewarded program which gives a free travel-sized product for every ten empties you give back.

How it Works

When you take your empties to a M.A.C. store, you’ll get a free M.A.C. lipstick, lipgloss, or eye shadow of your choice, up to $17 value, absolutely free. The hardest part will be picking if you want to stick with your usual favorite, or experiment with a new shade.

If you can’t make it to a store, you can mail in your six empty containers. Simply print a form from the company’s website. There, you’ll choose your top three lipstick shade choices and provide your delivery address.

If you’re eager for a new free lipstick but don’t have enough empties yet, this recycling program is a perfect reason to release your inner makeup guru and stock up for the summer.
